The Morquip Body Handling System was developed in conjunction with the Pathology Department at the Princess Alexandra Hospital, Harlow, Essex. The Aims of the design team were to save time and reduce physical effort for both pathologist and mortuary technician ā thereby increasing efficiency in the post mortem procedures.
The system is designed around a body tray that is fully transferable from mortuary chamber to post mortem table and back again. The body remains on the same tray throughout all procedures with transfer effected simply and quickly by means of the Morquip adjustable scissor-lift trolley.
Each Station comprises of stainless steel double sink (upper and lower) with integral dissecting area, lever action mixer taps, over hand wash basin and hand held spray hose. This arrangement ensures that the organs always remain with the body.
The stainless steel supports for the post mortem trays are fully adjustable in height and are permanently fixed in place prior to the floor finish being laid. The body tray is simply transferred from the trolley to the inverted āLā pedestals to form the post mortem table.
